First of all, I really like the atmosphere you created in your painting. The colours you chose are a perfect fit for the scenery, and create a warm and comfortable mood, which is just right for the topic of your painting. It makes me feel all warm inside :)

Your painting technique is very nice, too; I especially like the way you painted the hills in the background. And I really love the way you painted the leaves, it's very detailed; the road they're walking down is as well.

A thing I noticed though is that you should probably avoid using too much white on the lake. It's okay to use some for highlights/reflections/to hint at ripples, but try to use it sparingly.
The big tree on the right has a hint of sea-green on its leaves, which I think is just a little bit too prominent, especially since that particular colour isn't used anywhere else in the picture. It's not that noticable, but once I noticed it it was a bit distracting.
Lastly, I miss some darker shadows, especially on the tree trunks and the man and his faithful friend. You have a pretty bright lightsource here, so your shadows would have to be painted accordingly.

All in all, I really like the topic of your painting, and I think you did a beatuiful job with portraying it! Keep it up! :)

PS: All of the above is solely my own opinion, so you're free to disagree with everything I said, of course!
